Depending on the spring weather, this burn may be scheduled too late in the month. An alternate date may be announced by April 17. 

THIS BURN WAS HELD ON APRIL 23. THE APRIL 29 BURN DATE IS CANCELLED!

We planted 250 Asclepias incarnata and sullivantii north of the park house (northwest edge) and 250 Baptisia bracteata east of the park house.

Agenda items include: Review of 2008 TPE Budget, discussion of financial procedures & policies, progress in hiring staff, and nominations for TPE Board.

The following projects will be discussed: 2009 TPE Banquet, Rare Plant Nursery, NIPES website, Truax drill, and fire equipment purchases.

We planted 300 Ruellia humilis and 200 Solidago missouriensis east of the park house.

We planted 200 Ruellia humilis and 300 Amorpha canescens.

We planted 500 more Amorpha canescens east of the park house. The new, larger plugs are much easier to work with. Also toured the freshly burned west unit at Hanley (the 'Sandbox") and found many Callirhoe, Tephrosia, Heterostipa, and Aster linariifolius plants. That really is a beautiful prairie.
