Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day marks the middle of winter, that is, the day halfway between the winter solstice and vernal equinox. It is the modern equivalent of the ancient festival of Imbolc (im-ohlk) when the traditional lighting of candles anticipated the return of warmer weather.
